Electus Recruitment Solutions is working with an established aviation organisation to recruit an experienced Production Planning & Control Lead to lead a specialist PP&C function within a safety-critical aviation environment.
This is a key leadership position responsible for ensuring maintenance activity is effectively planned, resourced and controlled to support safe, compliant and predictable aircraft delivery.

The Role
You will lead a team of Production Planners and Controllers, working closely with engineering, CAMO, procurement, supply chain and wider operational teams to coordinate maintenance activity and ensure aircraft inputs are delivered safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the Production Planning & Control function and developing the capability of the team
• Planning and controlling aircraft maintenance activity in line with approved schedules and applicable aviation regulations
• Developing detailed maintenance input plans and monitoring progress against agreed milestones
• Planning labour hours, specialist trades, tooling, equipment, facilities and materials to support maintenance delivery
• Coordinating with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure parts, materials and pre-kitting requirements are available when required
• Managing work orders, worksheets and associated maintenance documentation
• Monitoring aircraft maintenance progress through regular reviews and performance reporting
• Working closely with engineering and operational stakeholders to optimise aircraft availability
• Ensuring accurate recording and reporting of maintenance activity and performance data
• Supporting the investigation and resolution of audit findings, safety issues and non-conformances
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across production planning and control processes
• Leading, coaching and developing PP&C personnel while supporting succession planning and capability development
• Maintaining a strong culture of safety, compliance, accountability and operational excellence

About You
You will have substantial experience in aviation Production Planning & Control, ideally within an aircraft maintenance or similarly regulated environment.
You should have:

• Proven experience in a senior aviation Production Planning & Control or equivalent maintenance planning role
• Strong knowledge of aviation production planning and maintenance control principles
• Practical knowledge of UK CAA, UK military, EASA and/or FAA regulations
• Experience of planning and controlling aircraft maintenance inputs and forecasting resource requirements
• Knowledge of aviation Safety Management Systems
• Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, coach and develop a team
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing operational priorities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and operational environments
• A relevant technical background through an aircraft engineering licence, aerospace/aeronautical engineering qualification, aviation apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant planning or management systems
• The ability to obtain and maintain SC-level security clearance

Experience of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 or ISO 27001 within an aviation environment would be advantageous, as would aircraft type training or a business/management qualification.
