• Liaise with design, construction, and subcontractor teams to ensure safety assurance activities are properly planned and executed.
• Review and assess deliverables from internal and external providers for compliance, quality, and completeness.
• Deliver briefings and awareness sessions on System Safety and Interoperability practices to project and subcontractor teams.
• Support the development of project-wide competency in safety and interoperability assurance.
• Act as the primary interface for all System Safety and Interoperability matters with HS2 and appointed Independent/Notified Bodies.
• Produce and maintain reports covering progress, risks, and assurance status for senior leadership and HS2 stakeholders.
• Support the Head of Technical Assurance, Quality and Compliance in managing relationships with assurance and certification bodies.
• Integrate PRAM and CDM activities related to system safety and interoperability.
• Drive continuous improvement in technical assurance processes and systems.

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent level of experience in a complex project environment.
• Significant experience in System Safety and Interoperability assurance within major railway or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and safety standards within UK rail.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and assurance stakeholders.

• Broad understanding of multidisciplinary systems integration and assurance dependencies.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and information management skills.
• Competent user of MS Office, ProjectWise, and other collaborative project management tools.
Desirable Skills
• Experience working with Independent and Notified Bodies on assurance and certification.
• Experience developing and delivering System Safety training or workshops.
• Familiarity with Technical Assurance frameworks in major rail construction programmes (e.g. HS2, Network Rail).
